Family Friendly Super Bowl Party On A Budget

1. Skip Convenience Foods - It’s easy to pick up boxes of pre-made food, but this option isn’t always the most budget friendly. Search Pinterest, AllRecipes.com, or any other recipe site for fun and unique appetizers. You might be surprised at how creative you can get when it comes to making your own appetizers. Not only can you put your own personal spin on the food, but it will save you a ton of money!

Example: A bag of frozen chicken wings can easily run you $8.99 for 20 to 30 wings! Yet, you could make 30 to 50 wings yourself for around the same price. Not only do you get more wings, but you save money and they taste better!

2. Accept Help - Anytime you host a party, people will start asking how they can help. Please, take advantage of this! People truly want to help and want to bring something to the party, so let them. Make a running list of all the different items you need for your Super Bowl party. When someone asks you what they can help with, look at your list and give them some suggestions. Even asking someone to bring Ranch dressing, ketchup and mustard will save you money!

3. Shop with Coupons - This should go without saying, but shop with coupons! There are a ton of great deals during January that are geared towards Super Bowl parties. Start shopping these deals as early as possible, and don’t forget to match these great sales up with coupons. Use Favado to find the best deals in your area. Shopping the sales and using coupons can easily save you 50% or more.

4. Don’t Purchase Alcohol - Alcohol and Super Bowl parties usually go hand in hand, but they don’t have to. There is nothing wrong with hosting a Super Bowl party without alcohol. Let everyone know that you won’t be serving any alcohol, but they are welcome to bring their own alcohol to drink if they choose too. Not providing alcohol will save you a huge amount of money!

5. Make Your Own Decorations - People love to decorate for parties and with good reason – it’s festive and fun! However, buying up all those pricey decorations can break the bank. Consider making your own decorations by making signs with markers or paint. You can also purchase decorations at places like the Dollar Store to maximize your budget.
