Father’s Day Gift Guide and Ways to Save

fathersdaygiftguide.jpg-300x300Believe it or not, Father’s Day is right around the corner! I don’t know about you, but I always have trouble buying for my dad because he seems to have everything. However, there are many items you can buy or make that will make dad feel special on his day.

We’ve compiled some ideas by personality type with Father’s Day coupon codes and sales links to help you save money on your search for the perfect Father’s Day gift.

DIY Dad

DIY Dads love power tools so I would make sure to check out all the deals and coupon codes at Home Depot, Lowe’s and Harbor Freight Tools. Some stores offer buy online and pick up at store or free shipping offers. If your dad likes do-it-yourself projects he may also be interested in magazines such as This Old House or one of my favorites, Handyman. Both have great ideas with instructions on how to complete  project

Techie Dad

Techie Dads are a little bit easier to purchase for in my opinion, as technology is always evolving! Technology dads like to have the newest of everything from cell phones and TVs, to cameras and computers. Depending on your budget, you can find great deals and coupon codes at Savings.com just by searching the technology category.

Outdoors Dad

Outdoor Dads like to hunt and fish so there are quite a few types of gifts you could buy them. I have an outdoors dad and I have bought him everything from hunting outfits, Swiss Army knives and special outdoor cameras for tracking animal activity in the woods. The best stores to find the right products are Cabela’s and Gander Mountain, and they always have coupons and specials going on to help you save!

Athletic Dad

If you have an Athletic Dad, you can buy them anything from athletic clothing, to something more specific in the sport of their choice. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Gander Mountain have great clothing ideas and sales.

Here are a few ideas by an actual sport:

Golf Dad: Buy a gift card at a local country club that accepts guests that are not members.

Baseball Dad: Buy a set of tickets to a game or a hat with the team logo.

Hockey Dad: Buy his favorite hockey player’s jersey so he can wear it to the next game.

Football Dad: The ultimate gift would be tickets to the Super Bowl – if you can afford it!

Entertainment Dad

Entertainment Dads like movies, music, TV and going out to eat! You can always buy a set of tickets to a new upcoming movie through Fandango or buy them the newest HDTV, tablet, computer or cell phone from Best Buy. They have weekly specials on all entertainment items along with special financing if you are looking to by an expensive gift.

Special Father’s Day Gift for Any Dad

Take a family picture and turn it into a special keepsake for dad by adding your own quote or memory frame. If you are not crafty, there are companies such as MyPublisher.com or Snapfish that you can also make a photo book of memories just for him.
