Valpak Shows Its Support for St. Pete Pride
A little rain couldn’t stop Valpak employees and their families from celebrating diversity at the 2013 St. Pete Pride Parade. In fact, it only brought them closer together! “I think the highlight for me was how lively people were in spite of weather, which could have put a damper on the event. The camaraderie witnessed between participants from different organizations also made for a fun morning,” shared Carl P. (Quality Assurance Manager).
Valpak was one of the 100-plus organizations and businesses that supported Tampa Bay’s LGBT community in this year’s Promenade and Street Festival, further demonstrating that “Be Yourself. Make Us Better” is more than just a motto. Our steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion was not lost on parade participants:
“I felt a lot of pride not only in the LGBT community, but also in our company for supporting the community,” said Tommy G. (Customer Service Representative). “It was a great feeling when the parade spectators would yell, ‘Hey, there’s Valpak!’ I’m looking forward to next year!”
Paige P. (Marketing Project Assistant) echoed this sentiment: “Honestly, I’ve never seen so many of my co-workers smiling at once. I had no idea so many Valpakians were going to dedicate their Saturday to such a diverse event. I am truly honored to work for a company that sees the importance of attending events like this.”
