4 Amazing New High-Tech Home Appliances

I love cooking. I hate cleaning. I do a lot of both. Just a couple weeks after this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, I’m eagerly stashing away my savings so I can afford to buy the new appliances that were revealed. From dishwashers to refrigerators to dryers, technology is making home appliances work harder for you so that you can enjoy more during your time at home. Here are a few of my favorite things:

An Unnamed, Unreleased Whirlpool Dishwasher – Of all the chores, dishes …I hate you most. But Whirlpool revealed a new model to be released in late 2016 that will take the edge off of loading and unloading. While the sleek design isn’t exactly innovative, the smart app that connects with Amazon Dash sure is. The machine tracks how many loads it has washed and orders more dish detergent from Dash when it’s time. So just when you thought you had an excuse to skip doing the dishes…

Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator – Speaking of connectivity, this fridge keeps your family organized and fed! Using cameras inside your fridge, you can see exactly what you need to stock up on while you’re at the grocery store. Your smartphone gives you access to snapshots of the inside every time the doors close. Not only does this help you to remember your groceries – it prevents you from doubling up on stuff you already have! Instasavings!

Samsung Wi-Fi Oven – Having another great showing at CES, Samsung revealed ovens with Wi-Fi connectivity that empower you to turn the oven on or off when you’re not home. This feature alone is a lifesaver for busy folks who want to preheat the oven on their way home from work and pop in dinner right away.

GoSun Solar Oven – For those of us that want to disconnect and be more at one with the Earth, try cooking in this awesome solar oven. Surrounded by panels that direct the sun’s heat at it, a small cooking tube will hold small amounts of food for baking and roasting. It recently was used in a challenge on Top Chef where contestants cooked croutons, bread and even steak. Check it out or its sister appliance, the solar stove.

Times are changing and so are our homes. The trend of the future is looking toward smart homes that handle more of the unpleasant parts of our routine to give us more time for our families. It seems like a slippery slope to me, but I wouldn’t turn down a dryer that folds your clothes.
