5 Affordable Things for Single Moms to Do on Valentine’s Day

Being a single mom is never easy, and it’s particularly hard being a single mother on Valentine’s Day. All your girlfriends are out with their significant others, and the rest of your single girlfriends are feeling like you do about the day. As a 12-year veteran of single-motherhood, I’m here to tell you that there are fun, affordable things you can do for yourself.

5 Affordable Things for Single Moms to Do on Valentine's Day

Pamper yourself

A good trip to the beauty school is a great way to relax without breaking the bank.  For the price of a mani and pedi, you can get a facial and a message instead.

Make that day a girls’ night out

Go out for a nice dinner with your other single friends. This way you will have others around you that know you and understand how you feel.

Make it a girls night in

Have a cocktail with the girls and make it a night of total girl fun. Have everyone bring an appetizer and a drink. It’s a great time for everyone!

Shopping Trip

Retail therapy is always a great way to make you feel better. It’s amazing what a cute pair of shoes or a new outfit will do for you.

Give to others

Make that day a time for you and your little ones to volunteer somewhere. Believe me, that feeling conquers any bad feelings you may be having that day.

At the end of the day, your kids are special and a gift. This is the time to not only show them that you love them but to let them know that they are the truest love you will ever receive. You always want to make your kids feel special, but Valentine’s Day is a great day to take time out to make yourself feel special as well.
