5 Tricks to Help You Pack

AKA Pack Hacks. Packing and unpacking is hands down the worst part of moving. It’s cumbersome, tedious and tiring. We have a few tricks up our sleeve to make things easier.

1. Use Trash Bags
Unhanging, folding, boxing, then unboxing, unfolding and rehanging literally sounds like the dumbest thing ever. Why not skip it and wrap hanging clothes in trash bags?
Open the bag, starting from the bottom hems pull it around your hanging clothes. Tie the hangers together with the drawstring. Voila! Done.
2. Vacuum Storage Bags
These things not only save space but making moving a breeze. Ziploc makes a cheap option you can score practically anywhere. Dollar General has 2-packs for $6.75.
Use them to pack towels, blankets, folded clothes, pillows, sheets… the list is endless really.
3. Use Clothes Instead of Bubble Wrap
Buying moving supplies can get expensive, especially when you want to make sure things don’t break. Improvise and use clothes. Sweaters and T-shirts are great to use when wrapping dishes.
4. Utilize Your Suitcase
Shoes easily become one of the heaviest things you’ll need to pack, and then move. Make it easy on your back and pack them in a rolling suitcase. You’re going to have to move it anyways.
5. Saran Wrap Your Drawers
Moving dressers with the drawers in them is silly, and heavy. Don’t do it. Remove them.
Then instead of emptying your drawers, and boxing their contents, just wrap them in saran wrap.
It will keep everything from getting dirty and lost, plus you all you have to do is pull off the plastic and slide them back into place.

If after this tricks you find you still need packing supplies, head over to Home Depot.
They have materials online, in store, and in variety packs.
