6 Makeup Trends to Try This Fall

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year…for makeup!
The colors get darker, the products get lighter, and the gift sets get cheaper!

I am super excited for all the new releases this year. New releases like the MAC Selene Collection, releasing in October 2016, and the Urben Decay Ultimate Naked Basics palette releasing in September 2016. Let’s not forget the gift sets that offer a ton of product, without breaking your wallet like the Too Faced Christmas in New York Collection!

In the meantime, here are 5 trends that cropped up on the runways of fashion week!

  1. Orange Eyeshadow
Orange eyeshadow was hitting big even before Kylie added the color to her eyeshadow palette. It’s the perfect complement to blue eyes and heated up the runway at NYFW. The Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics (cue the angels singing) houses a beautiful orange shade called Extra Bitter. It’s gold, but it’s orange and available at Sephora for $54. You can also get some orange action in Too Faced’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Eyeshadow Palette ($36) at Ulta. The colors in this palette are gorgeous gems perfect for fall.
  2. Graphic Eyeliner
Colors to avant-garde lines, graphic eyeliner is big this fall! Reach for non-traditional colors this fall. Electric blue and burgundy liners were all over the runways at NYFW. Score the look using Make Up Forever’s Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($21) or Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof ($10) both available at Sephora.
  3. Goth Lips
Dark gothic lip colors are all over the runways and blogger channels right now. Colors range from burgundy red to navy blue, to even black! Dare to be bold and sport it yourself. Go grab Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Echo ($20) if you want a gorgeous navy, or Tarte’s Tarteist™ Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Frenemy for the burgundy of your dreams ($20). Btw both brands offer a black lipstick are available at Sephora!
  4. Natural Dewey Skin
Let what momma gave you shine through. Natural looking skin will be in this fall and winter season. Grab a BB or CC Cream to get the look. We really like BareMinerals
Complexion Rescue™ Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream ($29.50) it’s hydrating, perfect for colder weather and gives your skin a beautiful finish. Or check out Dr. Jart’s BB Creams. Literally, you can’t go wrong with any of them. The Premium BB Cream ($39) gives you a perfect finish, the Black Label BB Cream ($36) is perfect for acne sufferers, the Dis-A-Pore BB Cream ($36) is perfect for people with oily skin, and then they have FIVE MORE BB CREAMS!! Seriously, you can’t go wrong. All of these products are available at Sephora.
  5. Heavy Metals
Snag metallic colors and glitters for your eyes and lips. Almost every makeup brand has a “metal” lipstick out at the moment, but expand on it, and frost yourself from your lips to your eyes with glitter! For your eyes check out Urban Decay’s Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadow ($22). These liquid shadows are duo-chrome and also have GLITTER! Grab them from Sephora. For your lips grab NYX Cosmetics, Cosmic Metals Lip Cream ($7.49) from Ulta. These metallic glosses will definitely need a lip liner, but are super awesome!
  6. Highlighter
Fall is more about the highlight than the contour, expanding on that natural dewy beauty. Add a little shine to your cheekbones and the tip of your nose to give yourself an ethereal glow. Our favorite highlighters are Benefits Watts! Up Cream to Powder Highlighter ($30) from Sephora or Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter ($9.99) from Ulta.

What trend will you be partaking in?
