Best Halloween Candy for the Money
You voted, and the results are in. Here are the winners for the best Halloween candy for the money:
We broke down the most and least requested candy into individual pieces or packages to determine which one was the most costly. Not surprisingly, the chocolate candy seems to be the most expensive, but also some of the most requested. You can get some crowd favorites in variety packs and save yourself money in addition to getting the best variety for the ghosts and goblins this Halloween.
Snickers was the winner over-all as far as the most desired candy — but also the most expensive. The price for the variety pack comes to just over $0.20 per bar (and up to $0.30) depending on where you purchase. When it comes to Reese’s and KitKat, you are better to buy them in a variety pack as well to get a better price. Try checking out Target for the Black Cat Variety Bag — it will come out to around $0.16 per piece.
In the non-chocolate arena, the favorites were without a doubt Skittles, Starbursts, Twizzlers, Now and Later and the official candy of Halloween: candy corn. Here are some of the prices you can expect from those:
Skittles and Starbursts can be found in individual size bags for Halloween for around $0.05 per piece at Sam’s Club, making this one of the best choices as far as desire and cost.
Twizzlers came in at the top of the popularity scale and is pretty easy on the wallet at $0.11 per individual straw at Walmart.
Candy corn came in as a top crowd favorite as well, and while it may seem like it’s on the expensive side at over $0.30, it’s also in packages — so you get the perfect amount.
As far as the most cost efficient candy — Jolly Ranchers — takes the cake at $0.03 per piece if you order the 5-lb bag from Amazon.
