Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Festival de La Villita
Amazing Mexican food! Awesome Latin Music! A FUN-filled Carnival! Little Village, in west Chicago, will be putting on their 27th annual Festival de La Villita (Little Village Festival). This is one of the BIGGEST celebrations of Mexican culture and history in the country, and is a good time for people of all ages and ethnicities!
This festival is a 3 day event that celebrates Mexican culture with music food and dance, but also pays tribute to Mexico’s Independence from Spain in September of 1810. This historical event is memorialized with a Mexican Independence Day Parade that culminates on Sunday afternoon with a dazzling concert held at the Plaza Garibaldi.
Musical performances include some of the most popular local and regional bands, but headliners are two Latin Grammy Award winners Ramon Ayala & Conjunto Primavera!
