Holiday Pretzel Bar Recipe

What could possibly be better than German chocolate cake, butterscotch and pecans?  Adding pretzels to the mix to make these Holiday Pretzel Bars. Warning: You may need to make two batches, because we guarantee you will want to eat one of them all by yourself.

  • 1 Box of German Chocolate Cake mix
  • 1 Stick of melted butter
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • ½ cup of crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup coconut (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine the first four ingredients
  3. Spread out in greased 9x13” pan
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until it looks puffy
  5. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes
  6. Add remaining ingredients and bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are brown.
  7. Let cool completely and cut into squares
