Sweat-Proof Makeup for Your New Workout Routine

Makeup to sweat in

It’s that time of year again, the time of year when we actually use our gym memberships.
But going to the gym with a full face of makeup on cannot only be annoying, but gross.
We went hunting for makeup that could withstand sweating without budging and caking.

There are two schools of thoughts on workout makeup.
One is to go light, if you don’t apply heavy makeup, there won’t be much to get ruined by sweat.
We like makeup though and, therefore, want options. For those of us that feel the need to have the perfect winged eyeliner before the house,

stila-eyelinerFor those of us that feel the need to have the perfect winged eyeliner before the house, Stila All day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($20) will stand the test of Zumba. It won’t smudge or run, and will be perfect for your post workout smoothie date.

volum-expressMaybelline Volum Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
($6.99) may be a mouthful, but it is a godsend. As a swimmer, I wore this stuff in and out of the pool. It seriously won’t budge without an oil based makeup remover.

bad-to-the-bronzeAdd a touch of the Color Tattoo Cream Gel Eyeshadow ($6.99) and you’re golden for a waterproof eye. I usually go for the color “Bad to the Bronze.”
Having your eyebrows on fleek is a must have no matter where you are. In the office, class or the gym Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Brow ($22) could give even Cara Delevingne brow envy.

kat-von-d-lock-itTo keep your skin matte and ready for anything, go for a full coverage foundation like Kat Von D’s Lock It ($35) or
Tarte Cosmetic’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation
($39).
The latter has an SPF of 15 for outdoor workouts.
tarte-blushPlus, Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush ($28) will seriously stand up to anything and last ALL DAY!
Not that you’ll need a flush of color on your cheeks after running a mile.
A more budget friendly foundation option is Revlon’s Colorstay ($12.99), a cult favorite among makeup bloggers.

If you do decide to forgo a full face and go light on your cosmetics, grab something with added benefits. We like a good BB or CC cream to give coverage while treating redness or acne.
dr-jartFor acne sufferers give Dr. Jart’s Black Label Detox BB Cream ($36).
It has ingredients such as Zinc and Green Tea to soothe and treat your skin while covering any red spots.

diorksinIf you’re looking for something to simply perfect your skin check out Dior’s Diorskin Nude BB Cream ($45).
This BB is packed with antioxidant’s to smooth, protect and give your skin a natural glow; perfect for a no makeup gym look.

garnierA drugstore BB with its game on point is Garnier’s Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector for combination or oily skin ($12.99). It’s designed with Hyaluronic Acid to maintain moisture and softness for 24 hours and Vitamin C to boost radiance. (Honestly, this is worth checking out even if you’re looking for a cheap new base!)
