We strongly encourage you to vote "no" on 1 on November 5th, 2019. This is for a proposed bond levy of $10 million for 28 years, with a true cost of $17 million with over $7 million in interest. It would allow the construction and furnishing of a new 24,000 sq. ft. fire station at $372/sq.ft. which only covers Station 1 on Rt. 608.
We fully support our brave firefighters and EMS. However, the true cost of the excessive 24,000 sq.ft. station will be over $17 million. The Trustees' plan puts residents on the hook to waste up to $7 million in interest alone. This is fiscally irresponsible. Our taxes are already too high. It's time our elected Trustees control spending and reduce taxes.
