Amherst Youth Basketball provides a variety of programs.
Our core house league program is an instructional league that runs from October through March. (Residency information below.) Our travel program runs concurrently with our house league. (Information below.) During the Summer, we run both a Boys and Girls HS League. Boys JV and Varsity teams play on Mondays, while Girls JV and Varsity teams play on Tuesdays. Teams are chosen by the HS coaches.
Amherst Youth Basketball (AYB) is a volunteer, non-profit organization that provides a basketball program designed to motivate the personal and educational growth of its participants by providing healthy, challenging instruction and competition. AYB offers basketball opportunities for girls and boys in grades 3 through 12. Amherst Youth Basketball has established and implemented a policy that provides equal playing time and instructional opportunities for every participant in its house/instructional league. The focus of the house league is on player development and the enjoyment of the game. Good sportsmanship is a requirement (Respect, Class, and Dignity), which must be demonstrated at all times by players, parents, spectators, and coaches. Amherst Youth Basketball also offers the opportunity for players to try out for travel teams at various levels.
